Assessing the drought risk in Thailand.

Spatial Analysis and Drought Risk Determination in Thailand

content

Drought has a severe impact on people's livelihoods and the geoeconomics of Thailand. Geographic information systems, including Earth observations and databases, were used to assess and validate drought risk analyses. The standardized Divergent Vegetation Index (NDVI) from NASA's MODIS on Tera was considered using a weighting method with hydrological and hydrological factors for monitored areas. The results show a moderate macroeconomic drought risk in most areas of Thailand, with the exception of northern Thailand.
