Geo-informatics System for Drought Areas Analysis

content

The content of this manual consists of four main topics: data preparation for spatial analysis, the spatial data analysis process, spatial data analysis and summarization in Excel, and data overlay in ArcGIS for creating agricultural drought risk maps. The authors have arranged the steps for analyzing agricultural drought risk areas in the order described above.

objective

This manual was prepared by the Water Resources Geoinformatics Research Section, Research, Development and Hydrology Division.
The Department of Water Resources provides this as a teaching aid on how to apply Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze agricultural drought risk areas using ArcGIS and Microsoft Excel, enabling students to achieve this.
This can be applied or used as an alternative approach for analyzing agricultural drought risk areas in the future.
